Occasional buying guide
Our occasional collection brings together 4 pieces from the Black Orpheus range, priced from $260 to $395. Materials across the range include teak, mahogany timber and brass, as listed on each product. Every listing shows its own dimensions, finishes and price, so you can compare pieces side by side before you buy.
What to look for in occasional
Measure your space first. Hall and console tables are usually slim to suit walkways, while coffee and lamp tables should sit within easy reach of seating. Match the table height to the sofa arm or seat beside it.

Styling and caring for occasional
Choose a table size in proportion to the space and the furniture around it: a hall or console table suits a wall or the back of a sofa, while a coffee table should sit within easy reach of the seating. Style the top in odd-numbered groups, such as a lamp, a few books and a decorative object, and leave some surface clear.
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wipe up spills straight away. Use coasters and placemats, and keep the piece away from direct sun, heaters and air-conditioning vents to protect the finish.
